Hi,
I'm looking at purchasing a used Terry bicycle (to ride a 2-3x a week for fitness purposes) and needed some help on what size is appropriate for me. I'm 5' 5 1/2" tall with an inseam of 29.5" (barefoot), shorter legs and longer torso, medium build. I'm eyeing two Symmetry bikes for sale online (one a 20" and one an 18"). Would either of these work for me? Thanks for any help you can give a newcomer!

Hi,

The 18" is too way small. The 20" would be better. But you really do have a long torso for your height, so the bike might require more tweaking, like a longer stem to accommodate your upper body. On the other hand, if you like a very upright riding position, it might be just right. In this case, it would be nice if you could test ride before you bought!
